Work Together with Other Etsy Sellers and Users

Just like any other business, growing connections and working hand in hand with other sellers on Etsy can be a great tool.

Not only that but gaining real followers that will give reviews and share or comment on your social media posts is much different then get followers that don’t interact that often. Here are some things that you can do to boost your community presence.

Join an Etsy Team

This is the first step to making connections and getting involved in Etsy. Here on the site, you can choose what niche you are interested in and what you are selling.

There’s usually no requirement for joining, besides naming why you like or are interested in what that team is. It won’t be hard to start building relationships with people in the group, since everyone is there for the same reason.

Tell them about your store and anything they might be interested in and ask them for feedback on your social media promotions and things of that nature. Also, if you ever buy anything from there, tell the seller about your store.

You can even start your own team.

Become a Buyer

The best and most successful sellers all across Etsy are frequent buyers. Not only do you make connections with the other shops and tell them about your own when you’re buying, it allows you a better point of view.

So when you make changes and add items to your shop you can do it with a buyer’s perspective as well. Not only that but it will help your overall user rating and this will make your store look better. This can only get you further engulfed in the Etsy community.

Host an Event

Events are hosted on Eventbright from time to time. Sellers come out to these events and others to give tips and teach others how their success came about.

Since you don’t have the credibility of a big-time seller yet (probably), you can host your event by inviting a few of the top sellers to speak and present there. You would be making a lot of powerful connections and relationships, not to mention the insight they will bring you.

You’ll have the chance to promote anything you want while you’re at it. This will most likely work in big cities, but it has worked in small towns before, so that shouldn’t stop you.

Connect With Your Buyers

When someone buys from your store, afterwards send them a kind message thanking them and creating an Etsy relationship. It doesn’t have to be anything complicated, just something thanking them for the store or favoriting something in your store.

Ask them to reach out to you again if they have any type of questions about anything else. At the very least it will improve the reputation of your store.

Share Any Success Stories You’ve Had

This is similar to hosting an event, only in that, it’s sharing knowledge of making a profit. The discussions in Etsy is filled with people explaining their successes and giving advice to people who hope to replicate that.

Even if you’ve only made a few sales, it’s still a great place to connect with even more buyers and sellers. After you post, try and keep up with the replies. Then you’ll continue to build your brand and connections.

About Charles Curry

Charles founded his Etsy shop Wall Decal Source in 2012. He opened his decal shop and decided to create a nursery decal for his sisters new baby. Funnily enough he published the decal as an item for sale on his Etsy shop and people really liked it. Well a few years later and his shop has been almost completely taken over by nursery wall decals. He must still be a kid at heart. As Charles tested and tried all sorts of methods to expand his shop he stumbled upon a few simple formulas for consistently growing Etsy sales and views.
