craft space must haves

10 Must Haves for Your Craft Space

1. A Craft Table

First things first. You want to make sure you have good space to craft your items, like the craft table here. It should have plenty of storage, a good size + functionality.

2. A Shipping Station

Unless you have a big crafting table with space for a designated shipping section, you should keep your shipping station separate. Store your packing supplies, labels, labeler, tape, thank you cards, shipping scale, computer, and whatever else you use at this table.

It will keep your space much more organized, plus you’ll be able to get a smooth production system down! (you could also use this as a desk to handle customer service if you don’t have a big room for a desk as well)

3. Greenery

It’s important to have some greenery around you. Here are a few reasons why. Green is a calming color, so having some greenery around your workspace is a big help during those busy holiday seasons, rush orders etc. Greenery also increases creativity and makes your space a better environment to work in. Succulents like these are my favorite! They are the perfect fit for your space, they are small and don’t take up a bunch of room but you still get amazing benefits.

4. Motivational Quotes

I love having motivational quotes around my workspace. My computer has a cute “Hustle” quote as a screensaver and my phone has a motivational quote. These are a couple more of my favorites.

5. A Mini Fridge

Now here is a VERY important item that I love to have in my work space. I actually have this exact mini fridge and I LOVE it. It was a splurge, but so so so worth it! I like to keep green juices, Starbucks double shots and maybe a few Red Bulls in it. I can just grab a drink when I’m in the middle of an important project – morning, noon, night or late nights. 😉

6. A Peg Board

You can use a pegboard for so many different things. Hang your tools, storage trays, thread and so much more. Plus, it can fill space on your wall and make your craft room look complete.

7. Extra Storage

It’s always a good idea to have extra storage, check out these beautifully organized shelves. Between these shelves, a pegboard, shipping station AND a crafting table with storage, you should be able to have the functional, organized space you deserve.

8. A Water Bottle

It’s important to stay hydrated throughout the day and this gorgeous glass water bottle will help you drink up to 10X more water. Keep this water bottle on your desk and you’ll find yourself refilling it all day long.

I have one thanks to Stitch Fix’s special holiday gift in December’s box. I never used to drink much water, but thanks to this water bottle, now I do! Get the bottle here: bkr.com

9. A Comfortable Chair

You want to make sure you have a comfortable, supporting chair so you are able to sit in it for long hours if needed. Do your research before purchasing one, this is one investment you should make if you are sitting a lot.

10. Hot Glue Gun Holder

Having a glue gun holder is a must! Keep the mess at bay and get this cute one here: etsy.com/shops/holsterbrands

About Charles Curry

Charles founded his Etsy shop Wall Decal Source in 2012. He opened his decal shop and decided to create a nursery decal for his sisters new baby. Funnily enough he published the decal as an item for sale on his Etsy shop and people really liked it. Well a few years later and his shop has been almost completely taken over by nursery wall decals. He must still be a kid at heart. As Charles tested and tried all sorts of methods to expand his shop he stumbled upon a few simple formulas for consistently growing Etsy sales and views.
