Understanding Your Etsy Shop’s Search Analytics

First, let’s define search analytics.

Search analytics will show you how visitors find your shop in search on Etsy. Here, you will see which search queries people use lead to your shop, and the number of sales coming from those searches.

Where Can You Find Search Analytics for Your Shop?

  1. Go to Shop Manager
  2. Go to Marketing
  3. Click Search Analytics
  4. You can choose the timeframe you want to see. You can select certain days, months, or the entire year.

Note that traffic from Etsy Ads is not included in the data in search analytics.

Main Drivers of Your Etsy Shop Sales

  1. Visits to your shop – Number of times shoppers browsed your shop.
  2. Visits that resulted in a sale – Percentage of visits that led to an order.
  3. Average order value – Average value of orders from the people who ordered.
  4. Total earnings – Gross revenue made from the people who ordered from your shop.

For shops that have been open for a year at least, the change in data can be compared to the same timeframe the past year.

About Charles Curry

Charles founded his Etsy shop Wall Decal Source in 2012. He opened his decal shop and decided to create a nursery decal for his sisters new baby. Funnily enough he published the decal as an item for sale on his Etsy shop and people really liked it. Well a few years later and his shop has been almost completely taken over by nursery wall decals. He must still be a kid at heart. As Charles tested and tried all sorts of methods to expand his shop he stumbled upon a few simple formulas for consistently growing Etsy sales and views.
