What Types of Ads Can You Do on Instagram?

Photo Ads

A photo ad is the simplest of the bunch. Here, you will use only one photo either in a square or landscape format.

Video Ads

Using videos for your ads is one effective way to entice potential customers to go ahead and purchase your products or services. Video ads on Instagram can be shot in a square or landscape format and have a 60-second limit.

Collection Ads

Collection ads are somewhat like video ads because they will appear as a video in the feeds. The difference is it is made up of a series of images that will play as a video – like a slideshow. You can also have the option to add audio and text.

Carousel Ads

For the Carousel ads, you can include 2 to 10 images or videos. Users are going to swipe through to view them all.

Stories Ads

You can also use Instagram Stories for ads. It’s similar to Snapchat and Facebook’s My Day which are self-destructing images and videos that will only last up to 24 hours.

Reels Ads

Reel ads are similar to stories as they provide a vertical, full-screen experience for users. They will appear between the Reels of a user and will last up to 30 seconds. Instagram users can comment, like, share, save, view, and skip them.

About Charles Curry

Charles founded his Etsy shop Wall Decal Source in 2012. He opened his decal shop and decided to create a nursery decal for his sisters new baby. Funnily enough he published the decal as an item for sale on his Etsy shop and people really liked it. Well a few years later and his shop has been almost completely taken over by nursery wall decals. He must still be a kid at heart. As Charles tested and tried all sorts of methods to expand his shop he stumbled upon a few simple formulas for consistently growing Etsy sales and views.
